Reunion 2020
Our next reunion is scheduled for late summer 2020 in San Diego, CA.
Jawona Chrisman made the following post on Facebook earlier this week:
Happy New Year Seasnakes! I am excited to start planning our 2020 reunion.
Please keep an eye out for new posts to come soon. I will need input and help for all of our members in order to make this a successful reunion.
I will post a poll proposing several dates for the reunion. The date that gets the most votes will be our date – so come and vote when you see that poll! Sadly, we will not be able to accommodate everyone’s perfect weekend, but we will try to accommodate as many as we can.
I will need help with the planning. The 2018 reunion would not have been successful without the help of members who were able to do some footwork for me as I am not in the San Diego area. Please think about what you have to offer and I will take requests for members to serve on subcommittees in order to delegate help pull the whole thing together by our reunion date.
I will need the following subcommittees:
Party Planning – this subcommittee will help to facilitate a venue for our main event the Saturday of our weekend. It will include planning the decorations, food and, of course, adult beverages for the main event. We will need to secure the venue as soon as we can because we cannot move forward with the an exact date (will need to make sure the venue is available), and the food and drink plans until we have a venue. I think holding the main event on or as close to Coronado is best as most folks will want to stay on the Island or at least close. If you have ideas, please volunteer to be on this subcommittee.
Events – I will need a few people who will want to coordinate events for our group, such as golfing, excursions, sight seeing, etc. I know a group did a golfing day, and we had a group do a trip to the USS Midway exhibit and I know it was a lot of fun.
Member Contact and Coordinating a group contact – it would be very helpful if there is at least one person who is willing to help me keep track of everyone’s contact information and email, address, etc. Not everyone is on Facebook and we do have a website set up for those people who want to be informed via the website, but it will take someone who is willing to email these individuals to make sure they are aware of all of the developments and to get their input via the website, or email contact.
Once we get subcommittees set up we can coordinate away to keep in touch with each other outside the group facebook page. Last year we set up a group messenger chat and it was very helpful in coordinating last minute details. As I am an avid Facebook user, this would be my preference with any of the subcommittee members. But, I’m always open to other ideas if anyone has them.
I look forward to planning our reunion and to seeing all of you again this year!
Please vote below for which dates work best for you. The results will be combined with the Facebook poll to determine the dates of the reunion.
